Our Real-Life Experience at CPI Stem Cells (So Far)

If you’ve been following along on social media, you know that Broc and I just spent a week at Cellular Performance Institute (CPI) in Tijuana, Mexico, undergoing stem cell treatments.

We’ve received hundreds of questions about why we went, what the experience was like, and most importantly—did it work?

The honest answer is that it’s simply too early to know.

But we wanted to share our experience so far and keep everyone updated as we move through the recovery process.

Why We Chose CPI

For those who are new here, Broc has spent the last several years dealing with back issues that eventually led to surgery earlier this year. While surgery provided some relief, we wanted to explore options that could potentially support long-term healing and overall quality of life.

I’ve also dealt with my fair share of knee issues over the years, including previous surgeries and injuries.

After spending months researching regenerative medicine, stem cells, clinics, protocols, and patient experiences, we decided CPI was the right fit for us.

One of the biggest factors in our decision was that CPI has its own stem cell laboratory on-site. We appreciated being able to learn more about their process and see firsthand how everything is handled.

What the Week Looked Like

The week was much more comprehensive than we expected.

In addition to our stem cell procedures, we underwent extensive imaging, lab work, consultations, and recovery treatments.

One thing that really stood out to us was how much testing could be completed in one location.

We’ve talked for years about taking a more proactive approach to our health through advanced screening and preventative testing. Like many people, those plans kept getting pushed down the list as life, kids, work, and responsibilities took priority.

At CPI, we were able to complete things like full-body scans, genetic marker testing, chest X-rays, artery ultrasounds, and other screenings all in one place. It was honestly eye-opening to realize how long it might have taken us to coordinate those appointments separately.

The procedures themselves were different for each of us. Broc’s treatment involved more intensive injections and required an overnight stay. I was able to stay in the room with him the entire time, which gave me a lot of peace of mind. The medical team was incredibly attentive and stayed on top of his pain management, making the experience much smoother than we anticipated. Everyone was so kind, and despite being in another country, we never felt intimidated or uncomfortable. We felt genuinely cared for and supported throughout the entire process.

Beyond the testing and stem cell procedures, each day included a variety of supportive therapies designed to optimize recovery and overall wellness. We received ozone IVs, NAD+ infusions, and Myers’ cocktail IVs, spent time in the hyperbaric chamber, and utilized PEMF (pulsed electromagnetic field) therapy as part of our daily routine. Another highlight was the nutrition—fresh, healthy meals were prepared on-site each day by the chefs at TAM, making it easy to stay focused on healing and recovery.

The staff was incredibly kind, organized, and attentive throughout the process. Every question we had was answered, and we never felt rushed.

What Happens Next

This is where the real work begins.

The stem cell procedures themselves are only one piece of the puzzle.

Our instructions are to spend the next two weeks focusing on recovery and allowing our bodies time to heal.

Around the 30-day mark, we’ll begin physical therapy and start working on rebuilding strength, mobility, and stability.

By approximately 90 days, we should be able to begin returning to more normal activities and hopefully start seeing a clearer picture of our results.

We’ve been told that healing and improvement can continue for months after treatment, which means patience is going to be an important part of this journey.

Are We Optimistic?

Absolutely.

Would we have invested the time, money, and energy into this if we weren’t hopeful? Probably not.

That said, we’re also trying to stay realistic.

We didn’t go into this expecting a miracle overnight.

We’re approaching this as one piece of a much larger commitment to our health—alongside movement, nutrition, physical therapy, recovery, and taking better care of ourselves long term.

The reality is that today, as we write this, we don’t know exactly what our outcomes will be.

What we do know is that we’re grateful for the opportunity, grateful for everyone who helped make the trip possible, and grateful to be home with our girls.

We’ll Keep You Updated

One of the reasons we’ve shared so much of this journey online is because we know there are other people out there searching for answers just like we were.

Whether you’re dealing with chronic pain, injuries, recovery, or simply trying to make informed decisions about your health, we understand how overwhelming the research process can be.

As the weeks and months go by, we’ll continue sharing honest updates—the good, the bad, and everything in between.

For now, we’re focused on rest, recovery, and following the plan.

Ask us again in 90 days.

We’ll have a much better answer for you then.
